Photosynthesis

This week I learned about a revolutionary plant health paradigm.  Forgetting the debate of whether to feed the plants or to feed the soil, it focuses on getting plants to feed the soil.

Simply put, most plants don’t photosynthesize nearly as much as they could.  When the factors that limit photosynthesis are addressed, plants can harness so much sunlight that they have energy to spare.  When plants have energy to spare, they feed the microbiology in the soil – and then the microbiology improves the soil.  Plants thriving in this situation become strong and healthy, and become resistant to pests and pathogens.  Such plants produce strong seeds that give the next generation a good start.

You can learn about this from Advancing Eco Agriculture

Once again, the similarities between plant health and spiritual health are astounding:

1 John 1:5 gives the comparison that “God is light.”

Psalm 119:105 compares God’s word to light

Photosynthesis happens when plants let light come into their cells and make chemical changes.

Would you like to make the world around you a better place?  Would you like strength to overcome trials and resist temptations?  Let the Light in, and let it change you.
